Helensburgh has a wealth of independent shops supplying fresh local produce and local artisan products. There is also a thriving restaurant and cafe culture with enough choice to try somewhere different every day! There's a fabulous local cinema - The Tower - which shows all the latest releases in the atmospheric environment of a former church!
Exploring
Helensburgh is known as the Gateway to the Highlands and is ideally situated for exploring the Clyde Sea Lochs and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It is also a great jumping-off point for the rest of Argyll and the West Highlands. Two train stations provide easy access to Glasgow, Edinburgh and the famous West-Highand Line to Mallaig. Glencoe and Nevis Range ski centres are within an hour-and-a-half drive, providing skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer months. The Carrick Spa and the world-class Loch Lomond Golf Club are just 15 minutes drive.
